Today, our music-loving friends, we are listening to Typhoon! Typhoon is a rockin’ band from Oregon. Their music has a folk meets rock meets goodness feel. We’re sure there’s some sub-genre name that suits them perfectly, but we’re sticking with that. Overall, the music is highly composed. There are so many different vocal elements, and unexpected instrumentation. And it’s oh so magical. Today we want to feature a band that makes our hearts happy: Freelance Whales. You may know them from their song “Hannah” which was the free iTunes download many moons ago. Though they’ve been around for quite some time, we don’t feel they’ve gotten the recognition they deserve. So, take a listen and do your ears a favor. The Freelance Whales are a fun, upbeat sort of folksy eclectic-type music. They’ve got a sense a joy and happiness.
